HRH The Duke of York of the United Kingdom is representing HM Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom.
The Duke of York, Prince Andrew Albert Christian Edward Mountbatten-Windsor, is the third child and second son of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. He has held the title of Duke of York since 1986.
Born February 19, 1960, Prince Andrew completed his studies at Britannia Royal Naval College in United Kingdom's Dartmouth. He married Sarah Ferguson, known as HRH Duchess of York, in 1986. The couple, who have two daughters, divorced in 1996. However, his performance as a family man has impressed the general public, and he is currently one of the more popular members of the British Royal Family.
Prince Andrew is interested in sports, especially swimming, and also in planes and neurology. He is patron of many organisations including the Royal Aero Club of Great Britain, Royal Maritime Museum, Greenwich, Defeating Deafness, Fight for Sight, British Deaf Association Commonwealth Society for the Deaf, National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children and Association of Leading Visitor Attractions.
After he resigned from the Navy, His Royal Highness became the special representative for International Trade and Investment of the United Kingdom.
Prince Andrew visited Thailand in 1999, 2001 and 2005. On the latest trip, he made a private visit to the south of Thailand that was damaged by the tsunami in 2004.
