HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan is representing HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates and ruler of Abu Dhabi.
His Highness is the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and half brother of HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan. Born in 1961, he is the Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Force and President of UAE Privy Council.
He is the second most important person after the President and is expected to become the next president of the UAE. He makes decisions on every issues on economics and social development in Abu Dhabi. He is interested in rights of children and youth.

The Abu Dhabi Crown Prince visited Thailand in 2003 to see Asian Cup football match between Thai and UAE teams.

The United Arab Emirates:Located in the Middle East, between Oman and Saudi Arabia. The government is a federation with specified powers delegated to the UAE federal government and other powers reserved for member emirates. HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, ruler of Abu Dhabi is the current ruler of UAE.
Following the establishment of the UAE on December 2, 1971, the President of UAE is elected by the UAE Supreme Council, which is composed of the senior members of the ruling families of the individual emirates: the Al Nuhayan family of Abu Dhabi, the Al Nuaimi of Ajman, the Al Sharqi of Al Fujayrah, the Al Maktum of Dubai, the Al Qasimi of Ras al Khaymah and Sharjah, and the Al Mualla of Umm al Qaywayn.

On December 1, 2005 His Highness President of UAE announced that half the members of the Federal National Council, the closest body the country has to a parliament, would be indirectly elected. However, half the council's members must still be appointed by the leaders of the emirates, although no date has been set for elections yet.
The country has an open economy with a high per capita income and a sizable annual trade surplus. Its wealth is based on oil and gas output, and the economy fluctuates with the prices of those commodities.

UAE and Thailand established formal relations on December 12, 1975. UAE is an important trade partner of Thailand in the Middle East. Main exports from Thailand include textiles, rice, ready-to-wear clothes, shoes, jewellery and machinery and equipment. Main imports from UAE include crude oil, minerals, chemicals and gold.
