HSH Hereditary Prince Alois of the Principality of Liechtenstein is representing HSH Prince Hans-AdamII of the Principality of Liechenstein. The Prince is visiting Thailand with his consort, HRH Heredity Princess Sophie of the Principality of Liechtenstein.
Prince Alois is the eldest son of HSH Prince Hans Adam II and Princess Marie Aglae. He has been Regent of Liechtenstein since August 15, 2004.
Born in June 11, 1968, he attended the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in the UK and graduated with a master's in jurisprudence from the University of Salzburg in Austria.
The Prince is married to Princess Sophie and has four children. Princess Sophie was born HRH Princess Sophie of Bavaria on Oct 28, 1967. She graduated with a BA in history, the English language and literature from Catholic University in Germany's Eichstatt. This is the first visit of Their Royal Highnesses Hereditary to Thailand.
The Principality of Liechtenstein:Located in central Europe, between Austria and Switzerland. The government is a hereditary constitutional monarchy on a democratic and parliamentary basis. Smaller in area than Washington DC, Liechtenstein has a population of 34,000. The country has developed into a prosperous, industrialised, free-enterprise economy, with a high living standard and a strong financial-service sector. Liechtenstein and Thailand established a formal relationship on Aug 14, 1997. Around 300 Thais are in Liechtenstein, mainly women married to Liechtenstein men. |
