Korapat Pruekchaikul, an MA student in English at Chulalongkorn University's Faculty of Arts, had a chance to advance his knowledge of the Portuguese language and culture at the University of Coimbra, Portugal. Besides studying, he visited some places there and took a lot of pictures.
“Figueira da Foz” is a part of his collection “Coimbra: Now and Then”. The image has undergone computer enhancement to become painting-like. “Figueira da Foz” depicts the highlights of the town, which is located in central Portugal about one hour from Coimbra. It is popular among summer tourists for its beach. The picture, however, was taken late in the winter, and it gives a unique impression.
