The only reason thaksin wants to involved HMK as it would then have to lead to his being involved in the negotiations to ease the crisis and divisiveness as well as a possible Royal pardon. thaksin is a cornered dog with no cards left to play. He is using the same ploy that he used during his video-link at the Rajamangkla stadium when he said there are only two ways for him to return: 1. if HMK deems to pardon him; or 2. if the people rise up to fight for his return. A crises and divisiveness whose sole cause is the result of thaksin’s continuing attempts to regain his money and power. With the suppression of democracy and the democratic rights of the people by the military and the royal aides through the frequent coups and the latest in 2006, Thaksin and the red shirts already has an uphill task. But then this has not deterred those people who cherished democracy to fade away. When the red shirts start rallying a week ago at government house or blocking of road it was peaceful and orderly. They were receiving daily videos without any untoward incident. During the Asean summit in Pattaya, the red shirt leader had tried peacefully to hand over a memorandum to one of the summit delegate and also to meet Abhisit to deliver a message for him to resign and dissolve Parliament. But Abhisit and Suthep stubbornly refused but relied on the police and military to confront the red shirt. On top of that, Blue shirt from nowhere (most probably infiltrated by yellow shirt or Suthep people) starts to provoke the red shirt. Because the red shirt were obstructed and provoked they have to have to forcibly enter the hotel premises to deliver their memorandum which unfortunately results in some untoward incident that caused the conference to be cancelled. This incident was part of the plan by the government, royalist and yellow shirts to instigate disorder which will discredit the red shirt. WHY AND HOW DID APRIL 13 HAPPEN?. Was it such a violent protest by the red as claimed by the government & the royalist. In the fact the protest by the red shirt was an orderly one with an even less violence than the yellow shirt. Lets go back to the time when an emergency decree was declared by the PPP government. Even though the yellow shirts has rampage through Bangkok, government house and the airport for more then a week, the police and military did nothing at all. Since these yellow shirts were not provoked or felt threatened, naturally they continue their unlawful act unabated as it was part of the conspiracy to bring down Thaksin and his allies. The yellow shirts did not act against the police, military and royalist as they were in cahoots with them. But the actions by the military against the red shirt are completely different. The army and police were not use against the red shirt as the royalist of Prem knew that they might be in sympathy with them. SPECIAL TASK FORCES were used against the red shirt. The red shirts were forced and dragged through the street as can be seen on TV footage around the world. Shots were fired at the protestors which provoke them to defend themselves by putting up blockade and burning of tyres etc etc. These elite forces were ready to shoot and kill. The protest leader from their observation knew that these forces which were called upon by the royalist were serious in their shoot to kill order. To prevent further tragedies of the red shirts, they reluctantly have to call off the protest. WHAT IF THESE ELITE FORCES HAS NOT FIRE ANY SHOTS BUT ACT JUST THE SAME AS DURING THE AIRPORT AND GOVERNMENT HOUSE SIEGE. If in such a scenario, would the red shirts have burn tyres or throw Molotov cocktail. Certainly not, it could have been peaceful though there may be inconvenience as in the airport siege. From these observation it can be deduced that the royalist are firm in holding onto their power base by calling on the SPECIAL TASK FORC and bent on destroying anyone who come in their way. Arrest orders were immediately issued against leaders of the red shirts. BUT UP TO NOW THE YELLOW SHIRTS LEADERS ARE STILL FREE. There can be no comparison between the PAD’s 190+ days of relatively peaceful demonstrations against thaksin and his nominees’ bid to turn back the clock to a parliamentary dictatorship vs. the red shirts’ vengeful violence, rioting and rampage throughout the city in just after a week’s time. The two protests occurred during two different governments and any action or non-action the responsibility of the respective administration. The PAD protest was during the thaksin ‘nominee’ government whose responsibility it was to peacefully disperse the demonstrators and make any charges against the leaders of the demonstration that were required. What thaksin’s nominees did was to violently suppress, injure, and kill peaceful demonstrators on Oct 7th. And they used the red shirts to fire m79 grenades into the PAD’s protest site. The red shirt’s protest occurred just 3 months into Abhisit’s administration. Abhisit did use a double standard with his soft approach. He avoided using extreme suppression measures even though he had cause to, after the violence of the Pattaya ASEAN meeting and being physically attacked. Yes the yellow shirts took over government house and airport; but no buses were set afire nor was the city and its residents taken hostage. There was verbal violence but no physical violence and wanton destruction. Photos and TV footage explicitly show the truth concerning the red shirts’ mindless rampage and acts of terrorism over the past three days. Red shirts murdered residents who only wanted to protect their neighborhood and homes from arson and violence. Abhisit’s ‘state of emergency’ was relatively benign and caused no serious injury nor deaths. Let’s not distort the facts with spurious allegations and accusations of the thaksin kind. |

A meeting that was meant to seek ways and means to bring the economies of ASEAN and its dialogue countries back on track. Not only in Bangkok, but people all over the country rose up against these ignorant and deceived rioters. Now there is no way that thaksin can come back. He’s shot his wad and missed the target. Just like judge – premature ejaculation. thaksin’s red shits will not be able to command such a large following again in the future. They misjudged the level of commitment and support for thaksin’s cause. They expected an upswelling of eager wide-eyed dedicated protestors. But once the violence began and the money ran out as well as the ‘paid-for ignorant people’ leaving by the score to celebrate Songkran; they were left with their flaccid dicks in their hands. |
