I am so sad to see granddad samaksin with a hang dog face yesterday to face his guilty verdict by himself. What happened to all his party members? However, we differ starkly in the KEY reason why Thaksin and his TRT/PPP possess the immense clout over the majority of voters who support them. THE BASIC PROBLEM: The reason is due to the IGNORANCE of the majority of voters (who blindly support Thaksin and the TRT) to the law and Constitution of Thailand. SIMPLE ILLUSTRATION: Just objectively (intelligently) analyze the following political paradigm of Thailand: (1) Thaksin and the TRT ran an ILLEGAL (UNCONSTITUTIONAL) election in April of 2006. This was after Thaksin dissolved the House of Representative within one week of the court's proclamation that Thaksin would be tried of the corruption charges. (2) Even though the election was illegal and contrary to the Constitution, the majority of voters (primarily the Northeasterners and Northerners) still went to the poll and voted for Thaksin and the TRT - without questioning anything. RE-PHRASING THE ILLUSTRATION: Alternatively, examine the illustration as follows: (1) First, go back in time to April of 2006 when Thaksin and the TRT called the election. HOWEVER, this time, IMAGINE the majority of the voters were (are) KNOWLEDGEABLE of the law and Constitution of Thailand. (2) Now, conjecture what would have happened to Thaksin and the TRT then, and to this day. VITAL LESSON: I agree with you. The majority of Thais support Thaksin and the TRT. This explains why it is difficult to rid Thailand of Thaksin and his parties. The Appeals has passed judgement that indeed samaksin does have a dog mouth confirming the former ruling fo the previous court. This from a defender of democracy who uses his status and experience to defame others. The court upheld the ruling because it felt that smaksin has never shown any remorse nor has tried to make amends. Why should samaksin show remorse; what did he do wrong? He’s never wrong only others who believe that he is is are the people who are wrong. His next fire truck and fire boat corruption case will also find him guilty of graft. samaksin is going down in flames. All he can do now is slink away with his tail between his legs and resign his party leadership of the 3ps.
