Coup was like a button put in the wrong hole
Do you hate it when you buttoned your shirt wrong and you have to redo it?
If the first button is put in the wrong hole, every button will be wrong. Launching the 2006 coup was like putting the first button in the wrong hole. Everything that followed was all wrong: the Asset Scrutiny Agency, Thaksin's conviction, political party dissolutions, the ban of politicians, the 2007 Constitution, the incumbent Constitution Court justices, who were appointed by the coup.
The Opposition is trying to straighten up the political mess by clamouring for Thaksin to come home to face jail term. Jailing Thaksin is tantamount to trying to match the last button to the last hole when you had it wrong from the beginning. It won't work. You have to unfasten all buttons and start it over (unless you don't mind going with crooked shirt).
