THAI's global ranking falls to the 9th place
Thai Airways International has seen its ranking in the international level slip, under Skytrax's traveller choice survey in 2012.
In the international level whereby Qatar Airways is named the world’s best airline for two consecutive years, THAI’s ranking fell sharply from the 5th to the 9th. Aside from Qatar Airways, among the top eight airlines are Asiana Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific Airways, ANA All Nippon Airways, Etihad Airways, Turkish Airlines and Emirates.
Among Asian airlines, it is ranked the fifth, from the 4th in 2008. The Thai national carrier has never made it to the top three for years.
As a consolation, THAI is announced as the World’s Best Airport Services winner.
This year, Skytrax’s survey - hailed as the global benchmark of airline excellence - involved 16 million travellers from over 160 countries. The Skytrax World Airline Awards were held at the Farnborough Air Show on 12th July 2012.
