Military steps up security before D Day



The Army, Navy and Air Force have deployed military police to keep security at 14 spots near six intersections.

Each spot is spotted is manned with nine soldiers.

The six intersections are the Uthong Intersection near the Royal Plaza, the Rajvithi Intersection near the Dusit Zoo, the Rajvithi-Ratchasima Intersection, the Ratchasima - Karn Ruen Intersection, the Phichai Intersection and the areas around the Government House, Parliament and Chitralada Palace.

And the Army has prepared 17 companies of soldiers, the Air Force two companies and Navy two companies ready to be deployed if an untoward incident happens.

The deployments were made ahead of a mass rally by the People's Alliance for Democracy at the Parliament Sunday.
