Suu Kyi to be "kicked upstairs": Samak
Burma's opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi would be kicked upstairs to be above the politic when the junta-ruled country run the process to quasi-democracy, Prime Minister
Samak Sundaravej said Wednesday.
"They don't want (her) to get involve in the politics. The international community might upset about the idea but I see nothing wrong as the proposed constitution prohibits those who were married to foreigners from politics," he said and noted "that's the (nature of) quasi-democracy."
Visiting Burma' Prime Minister Thein Sein briefed Samak on the political situation when the two met four-eye Wednesday that the junta would call a referendum to endorse the military-sponsored constitution on May 10 before a general election in the next two years.
