Rakkiart to be released on parole this evening
The Corrections Department has granted the parole for graft convict and former public health minister Rakkiart Sukthana after serving two-thirds of his jail term.
Rakkiart's release will take place Thursday's evening and he is required to report to his parole officer once a month for the next two years and six months in lieu of his remaining imprisonment.
"Rakkiart is a model prisoner and his parole is granted on the ground of good behaviour," Corrections deputy director general Kobkiart Kasiwiwat said.
Rakkiart has notified his parole board that he will live in Udon Thani following his release.
