Army Commander-in-Chief Gen Anupong Paochinda Wednesday called on political rivals to bury their differences for the sake of the country.

"If all sides give priority to the national interest, they must bury all the differences. I've been trying hard to achieve this but I always came under criticisms from all sides," Anupong said.

He said leaders of the red-shirted protesters might love someone in particular so they must be gradually convinced to give priority to the national interest.
