Pardon petition a pipe dream: Jakrapob

Fugitive suspect Jakrapob Penkair has lectured his red-shirt co-leaders for falling under an illusion that they could reinstall ex-premier Thaksin Shinawatra in power via the pardon petition.

In his article "Thaksin returning home?" published on Tuesday by Naew Ruam Red weekly magazine, Jakrapob reminded the co-leaders for misleading the red shirts to harbour a false hope.

He also reprimanded them for trying to bring back Thaksin to an unsafe environement which could end up with the ex-premier being assassinated like the Benigno Aquino case in the Philippines.

"I for one want to see Thaksin returning home but what reason there is to ensure the dream to become a reality," he said in his article.

He said it was naïve to assume that six million signatures endorsing the pardon petition could defeat the will of democracy "robbers".

He said six million people, seen as the voices from heaven, would pale in comparison with the combined forces of "ammat" (bureaucratic polity), comprising Prem Tinsulanonda, Pichit Kullavanijja, Abhisit Vejjajiva and Bowornsak Uwanno.

In a veiled criticism against red-shirt co-leader Veera Musigapong, he said someone was fooled at 40 and again at 60 years old. This was in reference to Veera acting in gullible to Prem's plotting.

He said if Thaksin was allowed to return home at this juncture, then this would be nothing but a ploy to kill him.
