Samart Telcoms selects Alcatel-Lucent to power TOT 's IP broadband project


Alcatel-Lucent has been chosen by Samart Telcoms , a provider of network system services in Thailand and a member of the JJS consortium, to supply an intelligent o ptic al network for TOT Public Company Limited (TOT).

This contract will support TOT's IP broadband project, and is the largest transmission deal in Thailand and in the Southeast Asian region.

Alcatel-Lucent will provide Samart Telcom s with an integrated, end-to-end solution allowing TOT to meet the increasing number of users while supporting the bandwidth demands driven by next-generation 3G services . Samart Telcoms will benefit from Alcatel-Lucent 's unparalleled experience in network roll-outs, project execution and network maintenance.
