Cabinet approves cheque distribution cost

 It is estimated that nearly 9 million earners whose monthly income is less than Bt15,000 would receive cheques worth Bt2,000 each, as part of the government's economic stimulus package.

 Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva added that so far about 5 million eligible recipients have registered for the cheques, or 60-70 per cent of total. He said no name should be missed out when the pay date is due.
