APC by Schneider Electric, a US-based manufacturer of uninterruptible power supplies, electronics peripherals and data centre products, expects its Thailand operation to achieve double-digit revenue growth in 2009.
The company will offer new products and technologies to expand its local market.
Thailand country manager Kai Low said APC by Schneider Electric aimed to produce new-product and right-item solutions with a long-term focus. This would both benefit customers and create different ways of reaching customers and partners in the Thai market.
The company is targeting customers in three areas: the consumer market, small- and medium-sized enterprises, and the enterprise market.
"This year, we are focused on organisations and the mid-market," he said. "APC arranges solutions to create productivity and improve business capacity. We have solutions applicable to all kinds of industries and we have a strong service team to provide consultation and implementation and to design solutions to support our customers."
The company is able to provide "green" technologies, including high-quality solutions and products to conserve energy, both reducing power consumption and increasing efficiency. APC's data centre, for instance, achieves a 30-per-cent reduction in electricity costs, he said.
"We see a lot of opportunities in Thailand. Our growth was more than 30 per cent in 2008, so we are confident of achieving revenue growth of 15 or 16 per cent in 2009, despite the economic slowdown," Low said.
APC by Schneider Electric has also unveiled its new MGE Galaxy 7000 uninterruptible power supply (UPS), which offers new levels of high-efficiency power protection for IT and other mission-critical equipment. Its digital design, coupled with a comprehensive range of options, enables the new UPS to be used in a range of applications from large data centres to industrial and manufacturing operations.
The MGE Galaxy 7000 supports a load between 250 and 500kVA and provides up to 2 hours' autonomy in the event of a mains power failure. Its compact size leaves more room for other equipment than do traditional UPS systems.
The new UPS boasts a 94.5-per-cent efficiency rating in double-conversion mode and up to 97-per-cent in optional-economy mode. It therefore enables customers to reduce energy wastage as well as saving on operating costs.
APC by Schneider Electric now has research and development centres in 25 countries and more than 200 factories around the world, including two in Thailand.
