Unearthing Wat Si Chum's secrets

On Thursday the Siam Society will host "Art and Architecture in Sukhothai: Wat Si Chum", a talk by scholars Pierre Pichard, Peter Skilling and Prapod Assavavirulhakarn on their 2003 survey of the site.

The survey was the first the time Wat Si Chum's architecture and artefacts, including 86 stone slabs depicting the past lives of the Buddha, had been thoroughly documented and placed in their historical and cultural contexts. The talk will present this latest evidence and propose new interpretations of the monument. Call (02) 661 64707 or email info@siamsociety.org.
