Six international issuers plan baht bonds

Six international financial institutions and governments are allowed to issue a combined amount of Bt24 billion of baht bonds in the first half of this year, according to the Public Debt Management Office.

Pongpanu Svetarundra, director-general of the office, said in a statement that each of the allowed issuers could issue no more than Bt4 billion.

The issuers are Agence Francaise de Developpement (AFD), International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD),  International Finance Corporation (IFC), Kommunalbanken Norway (KBN), Nordic Investment Bank (NIB), and Swedish Export Credit Corporation (SEK).

Other foreign institutions with the plans to issue baht bonds on the later date can submit their applications to the Finance Ministry in February.
