Thais greet their King

HM the King Bhumibol Adulyadej has been receiving New Year greetings from his subjects by mail.

The greetings have come from Thais across the country, as well as those living overseas.

"Some letters have arrived from as far as the United States, Brazil, and the United Kingdom," Rajdamnoen Post Office chief Thongchai Kijbamrungsilp said yesterday.

He said the mail greetings addressed to His Majesty had been flowing in since December 15.

"We have delivered these greetings to the Office of His Majesty's Principal Private Secretary," Thongchai added.
