PM faces impeachment charges


Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat on Monday faced four impeachement charges including abuse of authority and breaking ethical and moral gound by using office hour to hook up with women to be levelled by Mahidol University and Chulalongkorn University lecturers.

Montha Kengkarnpanit, Mahidol University lecturer said some lectures from two universities gathered more than 20,000 signatures as required by the Consittution to lodge a petititon with the Senate to launch an impeachment proceeding against Somchai on Tuesday.

 

The group levelled four charges against Somchai; abuse of authority, abuse of authority in the justice system, exercising power in violation of the Constitution and breaking ethical code of conduct over the cracking down of protesters on October 7 and using office hour to hook up with women.
