Most want all camps to respect laws : Abac Poll

More than 92 per cent of people interviewed recently want the rival political camps to respect the rule of law, while 76 per cent see the political turmoil as a national shame.

Abac Poll in its survey released yesterday found 58 per cent remaining in the middle, siding neither with the government nor the People's Alliance for Democracy.

In a separate survey by Suan Dusit Poll, almost 60 per cent want the government and the PAD to negotiate a settlement.

About 45 per cent want to see a speedy end to the turmoil no matter if it takes a coup, snap election or negotiated settlement.

Some 40 per cent called on both sides to put the country ahead of their political agendas. About 23 per cent find it necessary for military intervention in order to restore normalcy.
