AIRPORT CRISIS

Two more airports may assist airlines

Deputy Transport Permanent Secretary Chaisak Angkasuwan said airports in Phitsanulok and Nakhon Ratchasima may be opened to assist special flights to fly stranded tourists home, due to facilities and capacity to handle flights.

He said in a TV programme on Monday that from 35 airports nationwide, all are capable of assisting airlines despite different conditions of facilities.

As Suvarnabhumi Airport is shut down, U-Tapao International Airport has been operating at full capacity to handle a number of flights.
