PAD seeks court ruling to revoke injunction

Suwat Apaipak, a lawyer to the People's Alliance for Democracy on Thursday said he would file a petition with the Civil Court at 9 am seeking an urgent trial to revoke the injunction, ordering the People's Alliance for Democracy and its supporters to leave the Suvarnabhumi International Airport immediately.

Suwat said he expected the court would commence the urgent trial in the afternoon.

The Civil Court Wednesday night issued an injunction in favour of the AOT Plc, which filed a suit earlier in the day to seek an urgent injunction against the protesters.

The suit filed at the Civil Court at 5 pm named Chamlong Srimuang and 12 other PAD leaders defendants.

He said if the Civil Court ruled against revoking the injunction, he would file the appeal with the Appeal Court.

"This case is similar to when the Civil Court ordered the PAD to move out of the Government House and later revoked the order,'' he said.

The Civil Court in August issued an injunction for the PAD demonstrators to vacate the Government House compound and later suspended the injunction after a PAD's lawyer lodged a complaint with the Civil Court claiming that police beat up the demonstrators while enforcing the injunction.

The court ruling said that carrying out its order for the People's Alliance for Democracy to vacate Government House and the streets might cause further damage.
