The reason for this is that PAD does not seem to have an active opponent - the government is playing dead.
Apparently, the PAD has been playing into the government's hand - falling for every pretend report released by those in power. Maybe the PAD has its own game, which is why they said that Monday's protest was just a dress rehearsal for something bigger.
Yet, it doesn't look like the PAD has achieved anything.
The group mobilised its crowds to the temporary government seat at Don Mueang Airport yesterday, but there were no Cabinet members or officials to contend with. Perhaps the PAD leaders wanted their people to stretch their legs. There were reports that some of the protest leaders were sure the Cabinet would meet yesterday, when in actual fact the ministers are scheduled to meet today.
Then, without any clear reason, the protesters moved from Don Mueang to the Supreme Command headquarters in Chaeng Wattana, believing the government was going to meet there today. Earlier, they had been deceived by House Speaker Chai Chidchob's announcement of there being a joint parliamentary session, which was in fact cancelled.
The meeting the PAD had been waiting for at the Supreme Command yesterday had already been held by Deputy Prime Minister Chaovarat Chanweerakul, in his role as acting premier, at the Public Relations Department headquarters.
Then the crowds moved to Suvarnabhumi Airport, aiming to humiliate Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat. It looks like they may have been fooled again. Somchai's flight from Peru was delayed, and the chartered flight expected to bring him back would be landing somewhere else, according to government spokesman Nattawut Saikua.
Perhaps, the PAD should divide up and block every possible airport? Otherwise, it will just be wasting all time running around like a headless chicken.
