Photos of the impressive royal ceremony, which took place on Saturday, were splashed across all dailies yesterday.

"I bought eight newspapers," said 22-year-old Kanok Kaewkwan from Nakhon Ratchasima, "My relatives and I want to keep them as mementoes."

Grocery owner, Atthapon Karnwattana saw his regular supply of newspapers quickly sold out yesterday.

"I myself kept two newspapers," he revealed, "They have memorable pictures. People across the country are in mourning".

The late Princess is His Majesty the King's beloved sister. She was also a great contributor to Thai society.

In Songkhla, newspaper stands were empty by afternoon.

"It's clear people are interested in the royal cremation ceremony," said Usa sae Lim, who works for a wholesale newspaper agent.

Buppha Jintasuttisak, a Songkhla resident, said she closely watched the live broadcast of the royal cremation ceremony on the TV Pool of Thailand.

"Now, my friends and I are planning to buy the photos featuring the ceremony," Buppha said, "We will put the photos in frames and hang them inside our homes to remind us of the late Princess and her great contribution to Thais."

The southern resident also told her colleagues, who visited Sanam Luang for the royal ceremony, to buy some good photos for her too.

Photo frame shop owner Chaovalit Boonmee expects brisk trade in the next few days.

"In fact, people have already framed many photos of the late Princess' royal works. There will be more business for those are into photo-framing," he added.
