The award, which was presented by Tourism and Sports Minister Weerasak Kowsurat, at a recent ceremony, was granted in recognition of the airport's achievement in the "Sukhothai Airport: A Source of Knowledge" campaign and for its contribution to tourism development and promotion at the international level.
Discovering ChinatownTake a cultural walk on Tuesday with National Museum Volunteers and explore Bangkok's Chinatown and Sampheng community. The walking tour will be led by Edward van Roy, author for many books including "Sampheng Bangkok's Chinatown Inside Out".
The neighbourhood walk kicks off at Rachawong Pier on the Chao Phya River and winds its way through Wat Samploem, Rong Che Bun (a Chinese vegetarian society), the old market and Wat Mangkon Kamalawat and more. Bustling as it is unique, Sampheng is one of Bangkok's oldest neighbourhoods. The tour costs Bt400 (member) and Bt500 (nonmember).
