No ticket required

One government agency and a private tour company have been trying to fleece people visiting the royal crematorium and museum display of funeral carriages.

The Culture Ministry says there's no charge for the weekend tours.

But people say a government department website says there's a Bt200 fee that covers the tour and a meal.

A private tour company is advertising the tours and quotes a fee, too.

Ministry chief Veera Rojanapojanarat says "there's no entrance fee and if people are asked to pay one, or for food or guides, don't. Let the ministry know". He promises the rogue tour company will be caught and prosecuted.

Meanwhile, the ministry might add extra tours to meet the unexpected demand.

HRH Princess Galyani Vadhana will be cremated in November. The tours will, however, continue into December.

You can contact the ministry at (02) 422 8851-7.
