Epicor has set up a branch office in Thailand to expand its customer base and provide enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions to the middle market in the country.
Epicor vice president for Asia's sales Bryan Tan said the company will establish an office in Thailand 12 years after it entered the Thai market via local partners .
He said the office, to be set up this month, will handle customer services, consulting, sales and marketing, and training for business partners.
The company will sell the Epicor CRS Retail Suite, Enterprise, Vantage and iScala software for manufacturing, distribution, retail, hospitality and financial sectors.
Epicor currently has four local partners - DataOne, Humanica, Systec and MSI. It has more than 40 Thai customers and plans to tie up with two new partners to tap the retail and hospitality market.
"I think Thailand is the fastest growing market for us despite the economic slowdown. We have a lot of customers in the Asia-Pacific region," Tan said.
Next month, the company will announce a new version of the next-generation ERP solution, Epicor 9, which is based on the .Net technology.
He said Epicor expects growth of more than 20 per cent in the Asia-Pacific market. Last year, it generated revenues of US$429 million (Bt14.8 billion) and expects revenues of more than $500 million this year.
