Thai shares shrug off violence reports

The Stock Exchange of Thailand ended higher on Friday, regardless of the police's crackdown on the People's Alliance for Democracy supporters in the morning.

The SET Index recovered from the morning fall to end at 684.44 points at the close, up 1.61 points from the previous closing,  Turnover was less than Bt10 billion.

SET President Patareeya Benjapolchai said the the incident has sent a  limited psychological impact on investors, as seen through the recovery in the main index.

Later on the day, police agreed to soften its stance while PAD supporters in the South blocked the entrances and exits of several airports and threatened to seize a power plant in the North.
