Suan Dusit Rajabhat University deputy rector Sukhum Chaloeisap plans to present the survey's findings to a Senate panel on basic education today. He is an adviser the subcommittee.
"We have conducted the survey to identify which problems should be tackled first," Sukhum said yes¬terday.
He said the subcommittee discussed education¬al problems recently but could not conclude which were the most urgent.
That was why the survey asked not just about education problems people had witnessed but also what solutions they felt should be implemented first.
On proposed solutions, 27 per cent suggested improving the curriculum, while 23 per cent rec¬ommended a studentcentred approach.
Other respondents called for adequate teaching materials, efforts to get families to instil a love of reading in children, and including lessons on ethics.
Sukhum said the Senate panel would inform relevant authorities about the findings. "We will then follow up on how they implement the solutions. We will also update the public on progress doing that," he said.
