HP announces new managing director for Thailand

BANGKOK, Thailand, 4 August 2008 - HP today announced the appointment of Alan Sedghi as managing director of HP Thailand.  He will also lead the Technology Solutions Group (TSG) business in the country. The appointment is effective 1 November 2008.

Sedghi will take over from Khun Sanpat Sopon, who had earlier announced his retirement from HP next February.  To ensure business and leadership continuity, Sedghi will work with Khun Sanpat on the transition throughout August to October, and will fully assume the managing director role from HP's new fiscal year starting November 2008.

Sedghi comes to HP from Forth Corporation Public Company in Thailand, where he was director of offshore business development.  Before that, he spent 10 years with SAP in various management positions.

Sedghi obtained both his Master of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Kansas, USA.  He also holds a management degree from the Australian Institute of Management, and attended the Global Leadership training program at INSEAD, France.
