SAHAVIRIYA STEEL INDUSTRIES posted a consolidated secondquarter net profit of Bt787.8 million, doubling the Bt371.1 million earned in the same period last year.



The gain is attributable mostly to higher revenue from hotrolled coil sales, from Bt6.88 billion to Bt9.7 billion. Gross profit rose sharply from Bt748 million in last year's second quarter to Bt1.19 billion.

RATCHABURI ELECTRICITY GENERATING HOLDING posted a 40.87percent drop in secondquarter net profit, from Bt2.14 billion to Bt1.27 billion. It attributed the fall to lower revenues from its powergenerating business as well as the shutdown of its combinedcycle power plant for equipment repair. Its share of profits from joint ventures also fell year on year, due to foreignexchange losses.

TANAYONG shareholders approved the firm's plan to allocate 2.2 billion new shares to existing shareholders at the rate of six existing shares to one new share at an offer price not lower than Bt0.60 per share, below the par value of Bt1. Remaining shares will be allocated to any shareholders who have subscribed in excess of their right.Shareholders also approved the suspension of a dividend payment for the fiscal year ended March 31.

DYNASTY CERAMIC posted a net profit of Bt166.576 million in the second quarter, an increase of 18 per cent from Bt140.775 million made in the same period last year. For the first half of the year, the company booked earnings of Bt385.414 million, up 29 per cent from Bt298.092 million in the same period last year. Dynasty's board approved a Bt0.30 interim dividend for the second quarter.

THAI AGRI FOODS submitted its delisting application to the Stock Exchange of Thailand after shareholders approved the move. The company will tender for remaining shares at Bt130 apiece, above the latest trading price of Bt127 as of July 28. Listed in 1991, the company seeks delisting as its minority shareholding is less than the required level of 15 per cent of all issued shares.
