
The lecture aims to help members appreciate Khmer temple architecture and the rituals surrounding the temple.
Guest speaker Acharn Smitthi, former council member of the Siam Society, is a lecturer in Southeast Asian and Indian art at Silapakorn University and a world-famous authority on Khmer art and architecture. Acharn Smitthi's indepth knowledge of the art and architecture of the recently declared World Heritage Site of Khao Phra Vihar makes this lecture a must for society members.

Singaporean film show
The Foreign Correspondents' Club of Thailand is screening a Singaporean film "Be With Me" on July 31 at 8pm.
Directed by Eric Khoo, this slow, gentle tale of love created a stir when it opened the Directors Fortnight section of the Cannes Festival in 2005 and went on to win awards at festivals around the world. The movie weaves together three stories of lonely people looking for love.
The Embassy of Singapore will generously serve Singapore satay, curry chicken and the famed Tiger beer during the show.
