Know world trends and get inspired

Trendwatching.com, in its July-August 2008 issue, came up with the "Innovation Avalanche: 41 new business ideas ready to be copied, er...get inspired by ;)". Here is the concluding part of an excerpt from the report.

n A healthier alternative to the ongoing coffee craze: espresso made from red tea. South African 'Red espresso' uses Rooibos, which is grown wild and hand-harvested from a single farm at the highest altitudes in South Africa's Cedarberg Mountains. A patented cut and method of preparation give red espresso richer flavour, colour and health properties than regular Rooibos, yet it is naturally caffeine-free and is claimed to contain five times more antioxidants than green tea.

ECO-ICONIC

Sweden's Husqvarna has introduced the world's first solar-electric hybrid robot lawnmower that has no exhaust emissions and, it claims, uses the same amount of energy as a light bulb.

OFF=ON

It is rethinking the way chocolate is made, mirroring processes and behaviours common in the online world. The company's dark chocolate is created in limited-run "beta editions" that are only available online and at its factory. Continuous development and customer feedback mean varieties are evolving, with new versions emerging as often as every 36 hours.

The first and the second parts were published on July 7 and July 16, respectively.
