

Boonsrang cited the charter provision to remind the armed forces that they were obliged to stay way from partisan politics, particularly in light of the existing polarisation.
He said he planned to distribute his circular three days ago as an advice for the military not to get involved in politics. This had no linkage to his recent meeting with the prime minister, he said.
He also stated that soldiers were free to express their views in the individual capacity although they should not use the military uniform to wrongfully signal the backing of the armed forces.
He spoke in reference to the controversy that Supreme Command chief adviser General Pathompong Kesornsuk made two appearances in full uniform at the rally site of the People's Alliance for Democracy.
