Anake is converting an old building into the as yet unnamed 50-room hotel on Lang Suan Road in the capital's prime residential and business district. It is scheduled to open its doors by year-end.
LUXX, which was launched several years ago, was also renovated from an old four-floor building into a 13-room hotel. It now boasts high occupancy as well as room rates on a par with some four- and five-star hotels in the vicinity.
LUXX is one of the smallest hotels in Bangkok.
It targets young, hip and trendy travellers with studios featuring a "heavenly" bed space, cable TV and hot and cold shower.
Suites are structured into one-bedroom set-ups with LCD TV, personal DVD player, coffee- and tea-making facilities, minimalist pantry and private views overlooking the newly created courtyard that reflects the spirit of calmness and Zen.
Wi-Fi is available in the guestrooms and the lobby free of charge.
The new hotel will target high-spending tourists preferring to stay in a cosy rather than a big hotel.
Competition in the hotel business in Bangkok is tough, as many large hotels are being constructed, so Anake is avoiding putting his properties in that segment, he added.
