Vatana faces arrest warrant

The Supreme Court's Criminal Division for Political Office Holders on Wednesday issued an arrest warrant for Puea Pandin Party chairman Vatana Assavahame after he failed to turn up to hear the verdict on the Klong Dan corruption case.



Vatana faces arrest warrant

Paiboon Ponoi, lawyer representing Vatana said Vatana could not be contacted and he did not contact him to tell him why he did not show up. The court decided to issue arrest warrant for Vatana to hear the verdict on August 18 at 2 PM.

Vatana has been accused of ordering land officials to issue land title deed on public land while he was deputy interior minister. The land was later sold to be used in Klong Dan waste water management project.
