Actually it's the hungry thousands who attack the crabs at Singapore's Jumbo restaurant
Jumbo seafood restaurant in Singapore lives up to its name by serving more than a tonne of "live" crabs to 4,000 diners every day.
Piling into Jumbo with them recently were a jumble of Thais enjoying their Citibank Dining Privileges, and noshing on king crabs weighing up to a kilogram and a half was indeed a privilege.
With seven branches, Jumbo has since 1987 been treating hungry people to crabs carefully selected in Sri Lanka and flown in fresh.
The must-have list is big, but Chilli King Crabs served with a deep-fried bun and Black Pepper King Crabs seem to win the popularity contest.
Both dishes are spiced up Malaysian style, if a bit oily. In the first, the thick chilli sauce is a blend of sweet, sour and slightly salty flavours guaranteed to have diners licking their fingers. In the second, the hot black pepper contrasts well with the sweet crabmeat.
The price is about S$3.80 (Bt90) per 100 grams.
Also on offer is Jumbo's famous crispy-fried baby squid, the award-winning Salted Egg Golden Prawns, steamed bamboo clams from Scotland with minced garlic and stir-fried asparagus in XO sauce.
Visit all seven branches in Singapore just to make sure everything's fresh. Find them at www.JumboSeafood.com.sg, or you can call (+65) 6265 8626.
