Chalerm wants Sondhi's bail revoked

Interior Minister Chalerm Yoobamrung said on Tuesday his lawyer had submitted a complaint to the Chiang Rai court to revoke the bail of Sondhi Limthongkul, a leader of the People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD).

Chalerm said Sondhi attacked the government during a PAD rally during the weekend, which violated the court's order.

The court allowed Sondhi to be released on bail while awaiting trial for a defamation case on condition that he did not participate in political rallies and could not defame others.

If he was asked to show up at the court, he was ready to go to Chiang Rai, Chalerm said.
