Chat Chonlaworn elected the Constitution Court president

The nine judges of the Constitution Court on Thursday cast a peer vote to elect Chat Chonlaworn as court president.
Chat is the former secretary general of the Judiciary Commission during the turbulent period leading to the cancellation of the outcome of the 2006 general election and the punishment of three Election Commission members for electoral mismanagement.
Surin Upatkoon, the main shareholder in the controversial Kularb Kaew Co, was yesterday charged with a criminal offence for alleged illegal representation of a foreign company under the Foreign Business Act 1999.
