

You have landed your first job. You are keen to be successful. It's always difficult to identify a success factor because there isn't really a set formula you can follow that can guarantees those qualities. Your recipe for success recipe may be different from others but there are some key ingredients in common that you can practice.
Your vision
Undeniably, employees need vision and an external viewpoint. In the world of rapid change, a company might go out of business if they can't follow up trends. The key is to keep up with the trends and to anticipate changes. Take the initiative to start something. When you are a positive, you can move up the corporate ladder quickly.
Your judgement
Judgement comes partly from experience. But it's something you can work on. After each decision, ask yourself, what did I learn? Then seek out an assignment that will give you a different kind of experience. People should have experience in making both good and bad decisions, which helps them to learn. Also, you need to be able to identify key information necessary to make effective decisions.
Your ability to work with others
It doesn't matter whether you work for a multinational or a local firm, you should know that you can't get all you want by acting alone. When working with others, you need to be open-minded and listen to different point of views. You need to step outside of your own viewpoint and adopt different perspectives. Also, constructive feedback should be made when appropriate. Problems arise because people are afraid to talk to a boss or a colleague.
Your leadership
This quality can be practised through your past experience when participating in variety of activities at your university. What you need is the ability to bring people together to get things done.
Your drive, commitment and development
Knowing your goal and your personal definition of success is an important element. Equally important is to know your own strengths and your skills. If you want to enhance your career, play up to your strengths and improve on your skills required for your job. Also, you should realise that skills need changing over time. You should think upfront about what skills will be needed to lead you to future success.
