Chevron gives Burma $2m

Chevron Corp is giving US$2 million (Bt64.4 million) in assistance money to people affected by the cyclone in Burma.

Half will go to the International Federation of the Red Cross, while the rest will be split by the International Organisation for Migration, Mercy Corps, Pact and Save the Children.

"Chevron's contribution represents our commitment to the people of Burma," said Jim Blackwell, president, Chevron Asia Pacific Exploration and Production. "This direct aid is intended to help relieve the suffering of those in the hardest-hit areas."

42BELOW repositioned

Having recently been acquired by Bacardi, 42BELOW Vodka is now being repositioned as a high-quality premium product.

Originally launched as super-premium vodka, the brand will compete with those in the lower categories. In addition, following its recent launch, Grey Goose Vodka has gained the largest market share in the super-premium category.

"Bacardi aims to establish 42BELOW as the fastest-growing premium vodka at a premium vodka price," Paul Warden, marketing manager of Bacardi (Thailand), said yesterday.
