
The honour was presented recently during a ceremony at the Education Ministry headquarters on Rajdamnoen Road by Deputy Education Minister Pongsakorn Annopporn. Others present for the event were high-ranking officials from the Education Ministry and top Toyota executives.
Sasaki, who is well known for supporting education in Thailand, has played an important role in pushing various education projects with the Vocational Education Commission, Industry Ministry, during his six years as president of TMT (from 2001 to 2006).
The support included training in terms of automobile technology in order to produce capable personnel for the vehicle industry, as well as raising the competitiveness of Thai-made products globally.
The Toyota Technical Education Programme (TTEP) is divided into several categories. General TTEP supports education for automobile repair and maintenance to six technical colleges. Last year, the programme expanded to the Chulabhorn Technical College in Chachoengsao. The support included education as well as providing training in handling various equipment, engines and ensuring confidence to firms that recruit the students after graduation.
TTEP Young Generation (TTEP YG) is a short-term curriculum stressing on practical training for automobile maintenance in order to produce personnel for the growing auto market.
Body & Paint TTEP offers support education on automotive body repair and maintenance as well as body paint to 10 mechanical colleges with equipment and tools for Toyota standard body repair and paint work.
This is a short-term curriculum aimed at increasing the number of personnel.
