The two nominees under the Supreme Administrative Court quota will be appointed by a royal command along with three nominated by the Supreme Court and four selected from political science and law expertise.

Three Supreme Administrative Court judges are front runners for the two slots. They are Udomsak Nitimontri, Paiboon Siangkong and Charoon Inthachan.

In a related development, Justice permanent-secretary Jaran Pakdee-thanakul tendered his resignation yesterday in order to accept his judicial appointment as a judge of the Constitution Court.  Jaran's resignation will take effect on May 2.

Justice Minister Sompong Amornwiwat said he would assign Jaran's most senior deputy to work as a caretaker until he finds a replacement.
