Suwit said he did not see any justification to rush the charter rewrite while the country was facing many economic problems.
"I detect many differences among coalition partners regarding the planned amendments and I don't know when the prime minister will hold a meeting to thrash out differing views," he said.
He said his coalition party has opted to encourage a broad participation of all sectors of society in the rewriting process.
