The Nation
Bidders have 90 days to submit bid documents, which must highlight their qualifications, proposed price and construction techniques for the 23-km Bang Sue-Bang Yai route.
When the winner is named, MRTA will notify the Japan Bank for International Cooperation, which will approve the first batch of loans for its construction.
Buffet price stays Daidomon will maintain its menu price for buffets at Bt169 per head, despite higher costs. "The price has been maintained for two years, and it won't be changed to help consumers. Though we have suffered from higher costs, we have maintained the standards of our raw materials," said general manager Puttimet Lertviriyaset.
Rather than raising prices, Daidomon which operates 29 branches will improve its logistics and cost efficiency.
Sub-prime impact
The US sub-prime mortgage crisis will have only a slight effect on Thailand's exports, forcing a drop in export growth of about 0.32 per cent.
So says a survey by the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce.
The survey, conducted by the university's International Trade Studies Centre, focused on seven key export products, the total export value of which is expected to reach US$19.15 billion (Bt605 billion) this year.
