Food makers must be environmental-friendly
Thailand Food Institute suggested food producers become more environmental-friendly to attract buyers.
Yuthasak Supasorn, director of the National Food Institute of Thailand, said that based on AC Nielsen's survey of consumers in 47 countries, over 75 per cent of consumers in four countries are buying products which are produced with efficient-energy-saving technology. 50-74 per cent in 9 countries prefer products packed in recycled packages.
50-74 per cent of consumers in 22 countries prefer locally-produced products.
"Small and medium-sized companies can apply new strategies in their operations, as these products can be marketed in new channels," he said.
