Chevron starts on Platong Gas II projects
Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production has secured the contractor for the engineering, procurement, construction and installation for the Platong Gas II projects in the Gulf of Thailand.
The contract was recently signed with J Ray McDermott SA, and the work is expected to start in the fourth quarter of 2008.
The Platong Gas II facilities are expected to be installed in 2010 with start up scheduled for 2011. The 19,000 tonne central processing platform to be constructed in this project is a technological achievement that is expected to be one of the largest of its kind in the Gulf of Thailand.
