EU bans lighters without safety locks

The European Union has banned lighters with safety locks or those mimicking the shapes of consumer products, so-called novelty lighters, since March 11.

According to the Foreign Trade Department, Thailand exported lighters worth Bt29 million to the EU last year, up 12 per cent from Bt26 million in the previous year.
