Suthichai wins illustrious award

Nation Multimedia Group editor-in-chief Suthichai Yoon has won the prestigious Sriburapha Award for journalistic work considered of great value to Thai society.



The Sriburapha Fund Committee selected the leading newsman to become the 22nd recipient of the award, which recognises three groups of word- smiths: writers, poets and journalists.

Committee member Chamaiporn Saengkrajang yesterday said Suthichai was completely qualified because of his extensive journalistic work and creative, innovative thinking for society's benefit.

Candidates must have been working continuously in their fields for more than two decades, and their work must be of great value to society and humanity

The awards ceremony will be held on May 5.

The Sriburapha Awards were established to honour Kulap Saipradit, better known under his pen name Sriburapha, who is remembered for writing that was critical of Thailand's dictatorial regimes.
